Ask NGE - Maytag Clothes Washing machine

Hi Ao101 Thanks for the response. Agree price of water is insignificant but it's becoming bragging rights as to who in the dog walking fraternity has saved the most water. I'm supposed to be using over 800 litres of water a day and i want to find out why? Natural curiosity but I think you might be right and I'd better check my meter reading ability. I'm doing a different wash over the weekend so I'll post the results as they occur!

Restaurant Reviews - Kalgoorlie Overlander motel

We were considering having a party for 50 people so we tried this place out..we walked in and i can say the surroundings are a bit to be desired, but we still thought the food maybe worth a look so we paid for the buffett $30.00 each, the food was cold and dry seemed to me it had been reheated from the night before, the salads were wilted and no dressing was avail. I even saw some of the mining workers walk out after looking at the buffett and some leave without taking a second bite, two approached a waitress and complained and she very softly replied i know its *** cooking tonight . We didnt eat anything so after 10 minutes of being there we went to reception to complain and the lady was quite rude and not intrested (she was on facebook)we asked for the manager she informed us he was away

Ask NGE - Maytag Clothes Washing machine

Hi John, 2046 liters for a wash seem too much, even if the machine fills up 4 times it still doesn't make 2046 liters, I would suggest to you to check the water meter as it might be faulty. In any case the price of water is around a dollar per 1000 liters, so if you pay 2 dollars per load it's still cheap.

Ask NGE - Maytag Clothes Washing machine

I've got a top loading Maytag washing machine Model LAT9606. It's probably 10 years old but I'm trying to find out how much water it uses. I used the "large" load setting and the water came right up to the top of the basket. No extra rinse cycle. I checked the water meter before and after and it seemed to use 2046 liters which is a tremendous amount. Is this correct? Maytag in Australia don't know as it is "an old model"

Ask NGE - National Trades/ The Trades Group

Started with a phone call. Offering the reduced price introduction. Had to sign the commitment to service level agreement.

Luckily we run low limits on our business cards so they could only take a smaller amount.

Westpac had a hard time working out which approach would work best, initially it was disputed as unauthorised but that didnt work. Then we claimed that we were billed for services not provided on the basis:

Did not call back during the trial period as promised. Did not list our company details properly, billed an incorrect amount.

I would go back to your bank and re dispute on the basis that services were not provided as charged.

I should add it was a visa debit card, not credit card - that may have made a difference - who knows ?

I think it started around june last year

Good luck with it.

I have recently had similar issues with my new diesel 4wd. I made the manufacturer pay for all cost's in relation to the hire car. My argument was that the excess on my vehicle was not $3000 and I was not prepared to pay that for a hire vehicle if it happened to be involved in an accident.

Ask NGE - National Trades/ The Trades Group

Our history on this...seemingly now long resolved (but you never know)

Rung by national trades, free service, will call back at end of the trial and talk about how well it is going and signing up for a commitment.

Required us to sign a commitment to service level agreement form. Hidden on the back page was a clause relating to commitment to 2 year contract. Was hidden inside surrounding waffle in the same paragraph.

On day 31 money was attempted to be taken out of the company visa account. Lukily we keep a small limit on our card for transactions like this and they could only take $700, instead of the $1900 they planned on taking out.

Next day we received an email with a pdf attachment with the commitment section of the contract highlighted.

The email also stated the terms of the contrat, although funnily enough the terms in the email were for a different length of time, and a different amount of money to what was in the initial form.

Immediately cancelled the credit card (Westpac) and disputed the payment. Initially westpac didnt quite now how to handle it. After a month the initial complaint was rejected by National trades simply with a copy of the contract.

In consultation with Westpac the complaint was changed to "services not supplied" as the payment was not for the correct account, the listing was incorrect, and they failed to return phone calls and did not call to check progress as promised.

This was accepted by Westpac / Visa, a temporary credit was applied back to the card. This was about 9 months ago, so it would seem it has been resolved to our satisfaction.

Best of luck to all.

Ask NGE - Modern diesel cars

Got two diesel Peugeots, a 407 and a 308. We love them. The big 407 station wagon gets 500 km on short trips and I've done 770kms on a long trip and still had fuel left in the tank. I've had no problems since switching to BP diesel. I did have a clogged filter twice using diesel from the "cheapie" service stations. My only gripe is that diesel is more expensive than petrol...when it should be the other way around.
